Follow a physician whose practice is to treat mental illness with a regimen of electroshock therapy and more aggressive techniques. Touted for his successes, whose impact is dubious at best, he retains the services of a young man as a photographer to catalog his successes. Tye Sheridan and Jeff Goldblum give stunning performances in this drama about a collection of broken people on all sides.
Unusual and fascinating look at how mental illness was treated in the 50's and 60's. And it ain't pretty. Jeff Goldblum hasn't been this good since Cronenberg's, The Fly. Fantastic!
