Ok if you have any religious convictions that you hold fast to... THIS SHOW IS NOT FOR YOU!. Find something else to watch. If however you have an open mind and can laugh at the silliness of religion, then this is a GREAT Show. I'll leave my review as that.

In 2019, Ultraviolet who had always issued the digital codes for Preacher and many other shows, they ceased to exist. I suppose Sony Pictures TV has not made arrangenents elsewhere to distribute these codes. The old codes still work if you have an unredeemed one, but I don't think we're getting any new "free" ones, at least not from Sony produced shows. If you want digital, you'll have to buy it on it's own. Yes, Amazon had it listed as "Bluray + Digital" but they were misinformed. Please do not rate the BluRay poorly because of this. When I looked around, no other store seemed to have it listed as including a digital copy.

Season 4 of Preacher was an excellent finish to a bizarre show. Great acting, plenty of insanity, I cried at the end. I was thrillled with it, hence the five star rating. What I want to talk about is the BluRay itself. Since they opted not to give us a DVD release, this was my first Sony Pictures TV BluRay purchase. I have a handful of other shows on BluRay, and none of them are setup like the two SPTV shows I have since acquired. I am incredibly disappointed with how Sony packages their BluRays. They deem additional disc holders unnecessary and stack multiple discs together. Discs 2 & 3 are placed on the same stiff spindle. And if you buy another SPTV show on Bluray that has more than 2 discs (say, any season of The Blacklist) you'll get the same treatment. Superior to DVD, yet such inferior packaging.

Oh, are you expecting any cool special features? Maybe some end of series interviews, commentaries, or behind the scenes stuff? Go look up the cast and crews old instagram or twitter posts because you will not find them here. Only extra is a blooper reel. Also, what the heck is with the disc menus? Each disc has the exact same menu with every single episode listed. There's an option to access special features on discs that don't have the lone special feature! This is another Sony "quirk", seeing as The Blacklist has the exact same stupid setup (correct me if I'm wrong and it's just these two SPTV shows burdened with inadequate disc holders and lazily copy pasted menus). And if anyone was wondering, no I didn't get a slip cover. I've rebought the whole series on BluRay, and only season 3 came with a slipcover. These things are always hit and miss.

So if you've made it this far, I assure you the picture quality is great. In all honesty, the BluRay release gets a 3/5 from me. It wouldn't have killed them to give us a little more in the way of extras. But Preacher was never the show AMC or SPTV wanted it to be. It never reached Breaking Bad level acclaim or anywhere near Walking Dead level popularity. Comic purists mostly turned up their noses at Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's take on the beloved property. Preacher flew under the radar, but for those of us who loved it, we really appreciate this blasphemous, violent, beautiful show filled with humor, heart, and more balls than The Walking Dead has had in ages. Pick up the BluRay if you want a physical copy, but maybe try to find an extra disc latch lying around.
